Thunberg believed that this was needed to draw political attention and convince them to adopt measures to combat the global warming. Swedish media filmed Thunbergs' strike and her message was widely shared. Following the strike, students all around took part in Thunberg's #FridaysforFuture movement. Students took Friday off to demonstrate against climate change. Climate activists from all over the planet coordinated the Global Strike for Climate. It was a great accomplishment. 1.6 Million people in 125 countries participated.
