Taylor-Joy is the youngest of five children. Four are from Taylor's father's prior marriage. Buenos Aires was her home until she turned 6, when the family relocated into Victoria at London. Taylor Joy said the move from Buenos aires to Victoria was difficult and she did not study English in hopes of going back to Argentina. Hill House became her school of choice after Taylor-Joy was forced to change schools. Later she attended Queen's Gate School, where she learned dance and participated in plays. When she was 16 she dropped out of school to make a career of acting. Taylor-Joy always knew her goal was to become an actor. It was when she achieved that dream, Sarah Doukas founder of Storm Management, offered Taylor-Joy a modelling job.
