Her birthplace was Roswell on March 29, 1985. Gerina is the full name of her. Gerina Stevenson, the Mexican daughter from Rita Stevenson Stevenson and Alan Stevenson Stevenson, is birthed in Mexico. Her parents are Mexican and American. The desire to be a sportsperson began as a small child. Gerina started playing golf at the age of fifteen. Gerina graduated from high school at Goddard High School. At the age of 16, she was a winner in New Mexico's state golf championship. As well as the sport of volleyball, she played on a state-level. The first time she attended the University of Texas. Through the latter seasons of her professional career, she won each tournament that she participated in. During her undergraduate career she was awarded Conference USA individual champion player of the year and UTEP Female Athletics Player of the Year.
